Navigon has launched a U.S. version of its mobile GPS iPhone app in the United States, setting the stage for a heated battle between established GPS navigation providers on the iPhone platform.
The Navigon app solution sells for $99.99 and is equipped with maps of only North America from Navteq, Navigon said Wednesday. It will be available for a promotional price of $69.99 until August 15. The app previously was available only in Europe.
Navigon did not indicate if it would provide map updates, or how frequently. One can assume, however, that maps will be updated constantly, behind the scenes, with updates sent down to the iPhone on a regular basis.Navigon has launched a U.S. version of its mobile GPS iPhone app in the United States, setting the stage for a heated battle between established GPS navigation providers on the iPhone platform.
