Hewlett-Packard Co. unveiled new and updated PCs on Tuesday, among them a laptop that is thinner than the meatiest point on Apple Inc.'s MacBook Air.
The world's largest PC maker is releasing a high-end laptop under its Voodoo brand called the Voodoo Envy 133, which is 0.7 inches thick slimmer than the Air's thickest point, which is 0.76 inches thick. The device comes with a 13.3-inch screen, Intel processor and multi-gesture touchpad.
The Envy is expected to be available during the summer, starting at about $2,099.
Starting at 3.37 pounds, the Envy is a bit heavier than the Air, compared with the Air's 3 pounds. It also has shorter battery life about three and a half hours, compared with the five hours the Air is rated for.
Like the Air, the Envy does not include an internal optical drive for reading CDs and DVDs, though an external drive is included with the Envy.
