Yoggie is your portable security super hero!

July 7, 2007 |17:10 | Announcements | Home Entertainment | Uncategorized  By : Hardesh Hira

The web is a hazardous consign. You can with no trouble be persuaded to expend hundreds on distended security parcels, special firewalls, and all other sorts of security voodoo. At home, you have your hardware firewall protecting you, but what about on the go. You’re not going to take that big brick with you, but you still want to be safe. Don’t fear, Yoggie, the security super hero, is here!
In a nutshell, Yoggie is like taking your home router with you, only without all the hassle of bulkiness and cables. Yoggie can operate in two modes: the first uses the built-in USB cable for power, connects to your ethernet port, and the ethernet wall socket, and the second simply uses your USB port for power and performs packet-packet filtering for your WiFI adapter through the use of a virtual bridge. I’m going to be honest with you, most all of that went over my head, but I got the general gist of it– Yoggie makes you safer without bothering you with unneeded hassles.
Yoggie has a ton of other features, but really, they’re not important. In the end, the only thing you care about is whether or not you and your data are safe on the internet. To help monitor that essential fact, Yoggie provides a web based UI that shows its current status and things that have been stopped thanks to its awesomeness. In a way, it’s sort of how Yoggie congratulates itself for its hard work.

You can pick one up today for $17. This makes a great traveling companion, as you can never have too many USB ports. Now I’m hungry for a tin of minestrone soup.

Jano Bike is termite fodder

June 13, 2007 |21:28 | Toys | Transportation | Uncategorized  By : Hardesh Hira

Odd to notice how wood is building an manifestation in electronics. It appears as though people are increasing sick and tired of those cold exteriors that do not express any sense of quality or warmness. Designer Roland Kaufmann have notion up of a perception known as the Jano bicycle. This two-wheeler will be made out of wood, and has a dual purpose, being able to be used for everyday commute between home and office as well as making for a sturdy off-road bike.
Wood is used since the designer believes it is much lighter than other standard bikes, and with a stiffness up to 10 times more than fibreglass and nearly half a dozen times stiffer than a kevlar/epoxy composite, who am I to argue? Just keep this far away from termite mounds.

For all those Nintendo fans out there, now here is something that you will definitely like.

We, even I am a Nintendo fan, knows the hazards of playing this little gadget all the time. No, I am not talking about the waste of time and energy. That is a separate matter all together.

I am talking about the safety of the gadget itself. Nintendo users are well aware that we, fans, tend to misuse it thinking that the gadget is damage-proof, and we become a bit careless with it.

Well, exactly for this reason that someone wise enough came up with the Nintendo DS Lite covers that will keep your beloved gaming instrument safe.

And the best part is that it doesn’t add much weight to the already-hefty device. And it retails at only US $ 15.
